貞山堀／宮城県仙台市若林区 Teizan-hori is a canal of 60km length which was constructed along Sendai Bay several centuries ago. This canal had been used for logistics until several decades ago. The tsunami swallowed hundreds of people living in Arahama residential area south of here.

仙台亘理自転車道／仙台市宮城野区 Sendai-Watari cycling road is the road of approximately 40 km length along the Pacific Ocean. Most of the roads was covered with pine trees, so we could enjoy cycling in very comfortable even in summer. However, we are not able to enjoy cycling for a while because the tsunami severely damaged this road on 11 March 2011.
