Indochina Queen II Hotel

Stayed for two nights this week. On arrival we were put in a room next to very noisy guests who didn't sound like they were going to quieten down, so we asked to be moved. They 'upgraded' us to a different room in another 'block' which was much bigger and quieter. This hotel I found to be clean and smell much nicer than some other hotels we've stayed in, yet we spotted two cockroaches. The downside to the room we stayed in was it had a window which connected to the stairs, and therefore reception, and the staff talked quite loudly while they were working (either late or early).
The WiFi was good. I think the staff felt a bit aggrieved that we stayed for another night in a better room at a lower price, even though we said we'd be happy to move. I would have given another star otherwise.

Rooms are well maintained and quite central to many attractions

Booked well in advance. Arrived to be told our room was not available. They had "forgot" about online bookings and we were transferred to another hotel.

Alternative was clearly inferior (2 vs 3 star) despite "room upgrade" and we were charged same price as original booking. Can't help but feel this is not the first time they "forgot" about bookings and funneled people into their less desirable sister hotels.

Good location, comfortable beds, good sized rooms. Breakfast is just OK, nothing to brag about. Staff are helpful.
