The dumplings, pot stickers, and green onion pancakes are all delicious, and the prices are great for SF. The service was so-so, and I wholeheartedly agree with the "no frills decor" assessment. I would definitely recommend this place overall for its yummy food, but don't expect anything too fancy.

Best in the Bay Area. Try the glass eel, the dumplings are as authentic as you can get.
Everything i have had here was excellent, and I have never had a complaint from anyone who joined me for the dining experience.

This is kind of the original XLB place in the neighborhood. Still pretty good after all these years, though they have other worthwhile dishes too. Service is better than Shanghai house, but flavor is inferior.

The food here is AMAZING. Order the soup dumplings, as well as the spicy shrimp chive dumplings. It's also probably the only place I know that has fluffy green onion pancakes that aren't greasy.

Dumplings we're good -- the skins were really soft. Eggplant: sauce was good, skin was tough, still good. That being said, the place was what you would call organised chaos; a select number of customers knew exactly how to get seated, while the rest patient waited on the list-- there seemed to be 2 lists. Took order before entering to get seated, seemed to on average speed up stay time for customers, but just because one was seated before others doesn't mean their food came before.
Interesting experience though. They also got a whole shelf full of bleach and toilet paper -- it's like a separate shop in there.
