Overall, a good experience. Nice selection of appetizers and the beer selection isn't bad. I think this is about the third iteration of this bar. The first was great! Masterful beer list spread across the palette. Great food. Second iteration - food choices retracted, beer menu consisted of a single flavor - maybe a two star. Current iteration - the menu is somewhat back and the beer menu is growing toward something for everyone. Some emphasis on beers with silly names, but not bad. The atmosphere is not what it was before - chalkboards replaced with things that look like chalkboards but are preprinted. Big TVs that endlessly scroll the beer menu instead of something interesting. I would have preferred to give this 3.5 stars, but...

I ordered a to-go order of the truffle fries and the cajun fries. The order took around five minutes to come out which was definitely a plus. The fries were fried to perfection, nicely seasoned and decent in proportion. I favored the truffle fries but they were both delicious! I'll definitely come back! It's also a nice place for a burger and a beer.

Yes, the burgers are good but the Patty does not melt in your mouth as it does with my favorite burger joints out their. The time we well done, flavorful and worked well with the roll it was served on (great roll!). Definitely a nice beer selection, with plenty of local, and regional selections. Service was good but not memorably so. The lowest mark I have is for our seats and that is they were constant blasted by the cold air coming in from people entering the building and my buddy and I were seated about 15 feet away from that entrance. So all in all a great still just don't sit near the entrance, and if it's all about the patty this may not be the stop for you.

Great build your own burger options - the burger is great and the beer list is phenomenal, don't get me wrong. The loss of stars come the brioche bun. 3 out of 5 times the bun was stale, dry and crumbled in my hands. Made for a very messy and sticky experience. The last 3 times I went there, I tried to order the pretzel bun - hoping for a better constructed burger. Every. Single. Time. they forgot the pretzel bun and I got the brioche bun anyway. It was pretty frustrating. The bartenders are too busy and aren't likely to check on you after you get your food, so I was stuck the the brioche bun.
I stopped going. There is a great burger at another restaurant a couple blocks away that has less options as far as creative toppings but they get it right every time and the bun was soft and held up to the ingredients.

Great place for happy hour. Half off beers and a nice selection of cocktails from 4-7. The burgers were cooked well and reasonably priced, and I especially appreciated the build your own burger option. Truffle fries were okay (could barely taste the truffle flavor), but the truffle aioli on my burger was excellent.
Parking is a bit of a pain, but where isn't in downtown New Haven?
