I'd read about Mary's somewhere and wasn't sure exactly where in New Bedford it was, so I was excited to find it at the top of Union Street - I was downtown for jury duty, so this was a nice surprise. Mary's is a barely-noticeable restaurant with a few tables and a big counter, and a much bigger menu than I expected - so much more than steamed cheeseburgers, but that's besides the point - you don't go to a burger place for salad or chicken anyway. What is a "steamed" cheeseburger exactly? It's mouth-watering delicious. Probably the best burger I've ever had in my life. Hot, juicy, perfectly cooked, and so fresh. Order a Crazy Bacon Cheeseburger ($9.50, with FIVE slices of bacon) and a side order of tater tots - Mary recommended these over the fries and they were spot-on... so crispy and perfectly cooked. Downtown New Bedford has got a lot of cool restaurants and this is a hidden gem. If you're lucky enough to get picked for jury duty in New Bedford, leave your brown-bag lunch at home because Mary's got a nice thing going here. This is the place to eat!

Friendly staff.great food.wide variety of specialty burgers and a few must try desserts.fried twinkies.or oreos..if your downtown NewBedford.you have to try marys..

Steamed burgers are great! Moist but not greasy and with a really nice texture. Mary's has so many varieties of burgers and dogs that you'll have great fun finding new favorites. BYOB.

The best burgers in town. I recommend the Electric Fitts burger, it's filling and amazing. The waitress was amazing, respectful, and beautiful. Made in a timely fashion and well kept and clean place. Overall amazing. #outofthisworld

Fantastic burgers everytime, staff is too friendly! High quality delicious food with local ingredients and a creative & tasty menu. Highly recommend electric Fitz burger! Owner shows love to the community and first responders
