I am reluctant to give this place a five star, however, I do have to take into consideration that their chef was out sick and they were using a backup. While her food was great it took us over an hour just to get our food. I think the only reason I give a five is because they really tried to make the best of it: they told every customer they were still making breakfast even though it was lunch, service kept our coffee full while we waited and the food was good

Good food, good service, great atmosphere. We sat at the counter behind the grill to watch all the action. It takes a while to get your food but it’s nonstop with the orders, the place runs like a well oiled machine. Only negative is parking

Decent food at a decent price. Service was quick and friendly even though they were busy. I had the tuna melt and it was very tasty. Nice little gift shop attached if you are looking for a Derby or kentucky gift. However the place is old and a bit run down. Floors need to be cleaned. And please stop using Styrofoam!

We have been going there for years and enjoyed it as a special treat. Today was the worst day we've ever had. Got there around 10:20 am. The girl took our drink order but apparently forgot as it was a while and she came back to take our order with no drinks. We reordered drinks and ordered our food. I ordered vegetable soup and a grilled cheese. My husband ordered breakfast and was told he couldn't get breakfast as they were out of everything. He then ordered soup. We got the soup after a bit. It was not the usual good soup. Meanwhile other people were getting breakfast. Around 11:20 I still didn't have the grilled cheese. My husband went up to the counter and ask for our ticket. The girl said it's coming. Well our ticket was on the end of the orders. We waited about an hour for a grilled cheese and the order was way down the line yet. Pam said your not the only people in the building, there's nothing I can do about it. We know that, but an hour wait for a grilled cheese is a bit much. They were still cooking breakfast when we left. Guess we were not priveliged to be able to get breakfast. Really left a bad taste after all these years.

Food looked great. Sat at counter in front of grill. Interesting that the cook used stack of plates on the left as handrest. Bring a state public health person, this was totally disgusting. Asked my server to place my food in a to container and I would eat at the counter. She agreed but to no avail. My food was served on a plate and she immediately apologized and said she would put it in the container which would have defeated the purpose. By this time a three other workers as well as other customers overheard the conversation. I simply said I changed my mind, said I good and left.
