My cat, Khan, had a variety of heart issues that very suddenly came to a head in October 2017. His primary care vet was unable to stabilize his condition before closing for the night, so we brought Khan here.

Dr. Perez was able to stabilize him, and we were able to bring our friend home for a while.

I must say that Dr. Perez was one of the most empathetic veterinarians I have ever met. She took wonderful care of my friend.

Khan unfortunately had a second episode a month later. By the time we arrived at Veterinary Emergency Services, his time had come.

I was not in a state where I can recall the name of the other veterinarian who was with us that night, but she was equally wonderful and kind.

I will always be grateful for the month of life that they bought for Khan.

Edit- I see a lot of complaints about the cost of this place. Emergency vets everywhere are expensive. Nothing to do about that.

8 o clock at night and my lab ate an entire corn cob. The staff was able to tell me if I needed to bring him in over the phone and how much treatment (inducing vomiting) would cost. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which was nice for such a stressful ordeal! I went home feeling relieved that my pup had been treated and would be okay.

I am very impressed with the clinic. We took our dog in when he needed some emergency stitches and they got him in right away, communicated very thoroughly and even clipped his nails when he was under anesthesia. They were very helpful and very clear with aftercare instructions. The vet even quickly diagnosed that my dog has a bad knee, within 2 minutes of checking my dog. I've taken him to the vet for the 7 years I've had him, and no one has noted this before. Very impressed.

I have had two great experiences (as far as how the staff acted) at this clinic.

The first was when an old, blind, deaf pug was found near our house. Several people asked around neighboring streets but didn't find an owner. Finally I took the pug to VES (it was an evening during a holiday weekend) to see if it had a microchip. It did have a chip but the information was old (phone numbers didn't go through). Instead of stopping there, VES staff called animal control and found information to call the owner! They really were determined to do everything they could to help.

The second experience was just last night. Our dog got attacked by a neighbor's dog that had gotten out. Our dog suffered some damage, including a pretty bad wound to her mouth that resulted in her having to have surgery to remove her canine tooth. The staff at VES were truly some of the kindest I've ever experienced. Dr. Perez had the best bedside manner and was genuinely concerned for our poor girl. We never felt like we were unimportant or bothersome. They explained everything before it took place and told us multiple times to call back if we had any questions.

We were expecting the bill to be close to a grand, but the total was just over $400. For an emergency that required anaesthesia, we thought it was very reasonable.
