Do NOT look at student loans period. If you can't pay for it, don't go. Our child found out that nelnet was Hellnet. They had a student loan and despite my child getting amazing grades in college and graduating with a good degree in the field they studied, They soon found out the harsh reality that College is a SCAM. The nightmare surfaced after graduation. That it was a situation of NO JOBS and they soon were bankrupt. While my child applied for these jobs, they were losing out to other kids. Infact these were kids with NO college education. So it IS a lie that college grads get hiring priority. SO how does nelnet come into play? Nelnet, after some time, Went after my child with them being unable to pay their MONTHLY college bill, the company NELNET, set their bill in forbearance and then SOLD IT a couple of months later. That's right, SOLD IT. The whole process will just start over again, because student debt forgiveness is NOT there. Infact student debt is the ONLY debt IMMUNE from bankruptcy laws, AGAIN. Student loans are IMMUNE to bankruptcy. So its never going away.
So you have now a child's future that is GONE. They have soiled Credit score that collapses to the lowest bracket. Meaning they can't get Car loans, Home mortgages or even use their vast array of knowledge to open a business, because they cannot obtain a loan. Many OTHER parents in the community have this issue too. Their kid can't get out on their own two feet, they are stuck living in the basement. And all thanks to your local college. FK You Nelnet.

don;t have any student loans but the reviews from the hatters must be because they forgot when they handed that money it had rules to getting it back and now they suck cause you signed but did not read. he he

Can't tell if they have bad intentions or are just incompetent. They can accept payments, but can't seem to process documents or in-school deferments, even after a half-dozen attempts.

Worked her over 3 yrs. Love ever bit of what nelnet does, tries to do and the people I work with. What most don't understand is we have to abide by the DOE regulations, we don't make them up.
