I am not someone who tends to write bad reviews, but I am someone who is honest.I am also not someone who needs a lot of pressure in a massage, but I could barley feel this.
In total the service for our couple massage of the "healing art/ loom loom" was $299USD (with a discount). It looked like a nice place & the ladies were friendly so my partner & I thought we would spoil ourselves. It started off well, (the first 5 minutes) but it was clear that she started to get tired and as I started to relax and zone out she stopped putting effort in. My partner fell asleep, and he found it average but not helpful. The lady who served me had short and very gentle strokes despite me asking for more pressure. When it was time to roll onto our backs my partner had a dry towel put on his eyes (a hot one is expected at any basic spa) but I did not. I had nothing and the room was bright. I kept my eyes open for a while looking around to give the lady a clue but she clearly didn't get the point, or simply didn't bother to get one. Then the phone started ringing! Although they let it run to the answering machine "we can't take your call right now as we are in a service" it was as much an interruption to the peace as anything, and a long message of which I got again when I attempted to call the manager. It should be on silent or in another room.
For a full body massage, many areas were missed, including areas we stated for the ones we wish to have targeted. It was mostly a "patting" not a massage. I left no tip, although I had planned to leave a large one. Also, the warm towel given at the end to "help yourself to wipe off excess oil" was useless. The oil had soaked in for the last 30 minutes, from past experiences that is usually the attendants job during the process. My head was rubbed for maybe 30 seconds. My partner is confident that the lady who attended him checked her mobile at points during the service. I asked the hotel lobby if they knew the managers contact details, however they did not. I regret not walking out and feel a refund should be given. Only then would I consider taking down the review. As we were waiting for the elevator we spoke to another couple and told them our story, they quickly thanked us and did the smart thing-went else where! Also, I notice a lot of other reviews speak about a nice view, but the curtains were closed throughout our time & when they were opened upon booking it was just a view of buildings. At least the fresh pineapple & tea at the end was nice.

I must confess I am a regular at Spa La Cure! Spa La Cure is a hidden gem to be found on the second floor of the Waikiki Beachcomber Resort. Each and every technician is extremely skillful and caring. Today I was fortunate enough to have Ms Junko work on me. I was so stiff she had to work on my backside for 50 minutes! Ms Junko used an interesting technique, not quite sure what it is called but you move against her pressure and it is so very effective! An hour is too short. I would recommend an hour and a half to two hours if you can afford it. I left feeling restored emotionally and physically. Ahhhhh the cure for an stiff and aching body is Spa La Cure!!!

Best massage I've ever had.

Sakikio fit me in on short notice, tailored the massage to to suit me. She was very experienced, my lomi lomi massage was 45 min, and included everything, even head, hands and feet. Pure bliss!!!
