Sanitation Rating at 90! Appears dingy at best in the dining area. Great for a Dive if that is your preference. I think I'm done with this BBQ Joint. Too many options in Charlotte.

The food was phenomenal. All of the meats were moist and juicy. The fries were delicious and the mac and cheese was some of the best I have ever had. They have a real argument for the best barbacue in the city.

My favorite BBQ in all of Charlotte. The ribs, brisket, chicken, and pulled pork plates are amazing and all smoked in-house. They have a great selection of local craft brews and have recently renovated the restaurant with beautiful open seating and a one of a kind wooden bar.

I come here often and you will enjoy it immensely.

Pulled pork was dry. That should be all I need to say. But I'll share my other comments. First, my pulled pork sandwich was served on a plain grocery store bun. No toast. No butter. Dry bread. Second, the meal only includes one side, which is pretty cheap. I got the fried corn, which was very good.

The wings were better than the sandwich, which would be fine if this wasn't a BBQ place. And they gave us Newman's Own sauce packets to pour ourselves, which is just in bad taste.

Finally, if you're going to call yourself Sauceman's you should offer more sauce options. The three available are good, but nothing to write home about.

The sweet tea was very good. And the staff was great. So there's that at least.

Big dollars for cold, soggy barbecue and cold fries. If we hadn't been from out-of-town and needing to get to a concert, we'd have sent it back. Around 5:30 on a Saturday, we were amazed at how fast our order arrived. More amazing is that we waited only about 2 minutes for food, which must have been sitting on a counter well before we arrived for mote of heat to escape. The vinegar and hickory sauces had little flavor ... how hard is it to find full-flavored barbecue sauces? Oh, well, the Lenny Boy lager was good. Don't want to be negative, but the South boasts countless great barbecue spots of every variety, and it's a wonder this place is getting by.
