Real family place
Lots of families with small children. They have coloring things and small games to keep the tots happy while waiting.
Food is good and plentiful. Tried the Fettuccine with creamy basil sauce, added chicken. Had a lot of fresh seasonal veggies and came with 2 pcs of toasted sourdough bread.
My friend had the fried Catfish with Mac n Cheese and Collards. She loved it. I tried the sides. The collards needed a good dash of vinegar then they were very tasty. The mac n cheese was a bit bland for my taste.
Overall: A good value for the family.

The shrimp and grits was FANTASTIC! Best I've ever had (and I'm originally from the area, where there are no shortages of good cooks and seafood dishes). The "mess" meal was delicious too. Our waitress was nice and attentive without hovering. Overall great experience and I can't wait to visit this hidden gem again.

This is my favorite place to eat in West Ashley. It's exactly what I want from a diner. I usually get the special when I go, but the regular menu items are great (notable items include chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and pancakes). The atmosphere is friendly and the servers are attentive; it's just a comfortable and kinda cool space.
I should probably note that they don't serve alcohol, if you're into that sort of brunch, but it actually helps to keep the atmosphere more relaxed.

Visiting from Spokane Washington, just got into town and needed something to eat. Place had good food and friendly service. Being from out of town and not knowing what to see, the waitress was very helpful on where to go. Not only that, but the other customers also chimed in and gave us ideas. GREAT PLACE!

First time visiting the Early Bird Diner. The chicken and waffles were amazing. The pecan crust came alive with the maple syrup. Absolutely would come back. Our waitress was lovely and very accommodating. The price point was right where it needed to be as well. Bravo!
