I chipped my front tooth badly when I was eight, had it filled in and had to wait until I was at least 18 years old to get a cap. When the time came I went to our normal family dentist but by that time he was only working part time and had hired a new, young dentist. The experience was horrible. The new dentist was decent however every woman in the office acted as though they didn't know what they were doing, one woman even talked about how she was hoping to leave early right in front of me, making me feel like she was rushing everything she was doing, very scaring when your teeth are being worked on. Also, the cap came back wrong 4 times. It was supposed to be completely porcelain and came back with metal once and then the wrong color and shape the other three times. By the time it came back the fourth time I just wanted a cap so I could get rid of the temporary one in my mouth. The dentist put it in and didn't end up charging us because even he knew how terrible the whole experience had been. Finally, not being happy with the fourth cap we went to a different dentist, Dr. Calhoun. Dr. Calhoun and his staff were the complete opposite of what I had just dealt with. They were all very competent and very professional. Dr. Calhoun demanded perfection on the shape and color of my cap and it came back perfect the first time. He even took me out of the office and into the sun to check the color and transparency of it. I was 18 years old and it was a front top cap, he knew I cared what it looked like and he made sure I was thrilled before leaving the office. I was! I was absolutely thrilled with every aspect of the process. I'm 26 years old now, my cap looks fantastic and as long as I'm living in the Boise area I will always go to Dr. Calhoun's office for any dental needs.
