Canceled membership only to be chased by debt collectors for unpaid membership. Hope they go bust total rip off merchants. Six years asamember as well.

Very glad I joined FF - Facilities are clean and bright and the staff and trainers are always helpful and friendly. I'm not especially a fitness enthusiast but I always feel very welcome and relaxed there and can work at my own pace. The classes are good - and it's all good value too!

Not impressed with York
Have cancelled my membership because of
Pressure from personal trainer
So have not used gym for months but was signed up for the year can't wait to stop paying membership
Told head office but no help or apology
Not good

I am currently working away from home for an unknown period of time and unable to get to the gym.
So I phoned to ask for my membership to be suspended until I was working closer to home. This was possible, but costs £5/month admin fee.
This, in my opinion, is an unfair policy and is basically money for nothing.
So I decided to cancel my membership.
I was told not to cancel my direct debit as another monthly charge would be made.
Again, an unfair policy. To charge for a month's membership even though my membership is cancelled.
I did however cancel my direct debit.
Fitness First wrote to me, demanding the money and threatening me with debt recovery agencies.
This is how I am rewarded after 9 years of membership.
My advice is to avoid this club or be careful what you sign up for.
