Very entertaining attraction. Everything takes place inside of the main building, so it's a good place to visit when the weather is inclement. The staff / actors, are very much into their roles, & include the guests during every aspect of your visit. There are a few surprises along the way, & everybody is encouraged to join in on the fun. Best to book ahead, as the site can only have so many guests at once. Good selection of gifts in the gift shop, which relate strongly to the areas inside of the Dungeons.

Visited here yesterday, bought E-tickets online so avoided having to queue to purchase. Waited around 5 mins before tour to start and it was fear filled excitement from there. Plenty of variety in the different shows, exciting and fearful actors who are informative and engaging. Tour time is just enough to get your value for money without dragging on too much. Lots of fun and would recommend to anyone planning a day out in York. (The only downside being the prices in the gift shop as we paid £16 for two key rings)

Would absolutely recommend this to anyone who visits York. Book online to save at least £6 per person, we booked literally just outside the venue and then walked in showing the e-ticket on our phones. The "tour/guide" took just over an hour to complete with some amazing actors & actresses. A few jumps here and there, but all a brilliant laugh!

This place is great for a little trip out. I loved how engaging the actors were, although I have to say there could maybe be more communication between actors over who they pick during their bits.
My partner and I were picked for about 90% of the scenarios. Of course we're not complaining and I loved every second, as we felt extremely involved in the experience, but I'd understand if others who were in our group felt a bit annoyed at not being picked for anything and maybe felt ignored.
Actors were definitely giving it everything they had and we had a great time!

Would highly recommend! Jumpy in parts but humour balances out for young ones. A good number of rooms with excellent actors! Audience participation throughout and some insight / information into the past. There was a 15min wait (bank holiday Friday) but the crowd size was just right for the room sizes. Could not fault!
