Very disappointed. Attended dinner last night with a friend visiting from Australia, we both had the brûlée for dessert and have been very ill ever since. The manager did not take my concerns seriously and brushed it under the carpet. Terrible response, he should have taken that item off the menu to avoid suffering to further customers. Such a shame as the bar staff are excllent and the food has always been good in the past but will not be returning in the future. Mostly due to the managers lack on integrity, and understanding, rather than the poor food which simply could have been put down to a poor ingredient.

Our favourite eating place in the local area. The staff are amazing and friendly. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. It's cozy in winter with a log fire, and has a lovely beer garden outside in summer. In the 6 years since we were first recommended to it as the best place to get a steak, Paul the manager has kept the standards completely consistent and the food is wonderful!

We’ve visited here a couple of times and always impressed. Everything on the menu is so tempting, the hardest part is which meal to choose. Their fish is excellent, their pies out of this world. Starters are all so good that you’ll be tempted to eat them all and get too full for a main. The staff are friendly, confident and knowledgable but never pushy. Coming here is like folding into a cosy ball of comfort. I hope it never changes.
