Only went to the bar and was a typical Fuller's affair. Had a decent selection of drinks and a warm friendly feel! Afraid I wasn't there long enough to tell any more!

A very pleasant pub, visited 3 or 4 times recently. Had lunch with my son and friends on sunday, nice meal. A little disappointing that ESB was unavailable along with the steak and ale pie however that won't stop me returning!

Excellent stay overall. The room was comfortable and the staff accommodating and friendly. The very few issues encountered seemed more of an issue with the buildings are then anything else. The only real problem is a lack of Air conditioning, which would have been a significant problem if it had been any warmer. It is also worth mentioning that the location is fantastic. It is only a very short walk to Blackfriars station, The Tate and the Globe Theatre.

Visited the pub downstairs. Service is good. The place could do with a make over although maybe it's fine if you like authentic. The pies are good (tried the fish pie) although the sides are so so and they don't come cheap.

Advertised with the suggestion that this relates to Alice in wonderland. Other than a painting in the room, the theme was not Alice. The name relates to the fact the hotel was originally a hat factory. The room was expensive but was in poor condition considering the price. The heating was a storage heater and there was no air conditioning for a hot summer night. The TV did not work on arrival and after replacing the battery we couldn't get half the freeview channels to work. The bathroom was small and also in poor condition with, although the shower was powerful and better than anticipated. The staff were great although no discount was offered for the poor condition of the room. Would not recommend unless you get a severely reduced price. (Review based on one night at £110)
