Hotel was clean but the room was incredibly tiny and on two floors. The double bed was at the top of a very steep spiral staircase on a mezzanine level and had restricted headroom around the desk/wardrobe. Being higher up the sleeping area was hot and stuffy and opening the window made no difference. Shower was good but won't be staying at the royal eagle again.

Good value, very clean and reasonable decor in bedroom. Shower excellent and plenty of hot water. Stayed one night (Oct 31), close to two tube stations and 3 mins walk from Paddington. Friendly & helpful staff.

An okay place to stay, don't be fooled by the fancy entrance though. The rooms and corridors do not match the same cleanliness.

Good hotel on a budget, compact but good quality rooms. Can't comment on breakfast as we chose not to have it. Room was very warm, but fans provided and we could open the window. Might be very hot in the summer. Nice staff. Left our bags at the hotel for £1 per bag for the whole day which was helpful as we wanted to make the most of the day.

I originally booked into the Prince William hotel, but on arrival I was directed to the Royal Eagle (same street, just over the road) - ostensibly due to building work, but I always take these explanations with a pinch of salt. The room I got was very agreeable though; warm, clean and spacious. My only gripe was that there were not many plug sockets in convenient locations, but this wasn't much of a problem. The staff have been polite and helpful, and the location is very good for London transport links and local shops.
