An elegant in stylish wear stares down at her sausages in a puddle of mash. They stare back. The man opposite has demolished his delicate halibut. The side of green peas try to look pleased.

The dinning experience here was so good that at one stage I thought I was in a restaurant in Paris - only the excellent quality of the waiting staff made me realise I was in London, Baby! Terrific evening.

Nice enough food, quite good service - but plenty of places much better in London.
The glass of champagne arrived warm and flat - but was replaced quickly. If you charge £25 per dish, don't then also add a cover charge - that's just stupid. The staff are nice, especially the old school maître d', but mostly there is only a thin verneer over the basic contempt for the customer. Food is quite nice but nothing special. Atmosphere ditto.
