Summary: Fancy-dress shop with a nice array of Venetian masks at the rear.
A small costume shop in the Grassmarket, Hijinks (formally 'Costume Ha Ha') is packed floor to ceiling with outfits of all kinds. The back of the store has a decent stock of Venetian masks, as well as all the wigs, props, beards, and all accessories you will likely require. As is often the case with these costumes, many appear cheap and quickly constructed, but some gems hide amongst the cheaper outfits, so it's worth having a good browse.

Picked up a stovepipe hat from here a couple of weeks ago. It was only a few pence dearer than online alternatives after delivery costs etc and I dare say a stovepipe would be tricky to post?
The shop is crammed full of stuff so you could prohibit spend a long time browsing around. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The only possible downside is the website which contains only contract details and as far as I could see no online catalogue.

Friendly staff and a good selection of costumes and weird fancy dress accessories and wigs. They always have interesting window displays too.
