This dinner was totally amazing, and I will remember it for quite some time. At this restaurant you can pick whether you want to go with different types of tasting menus, or order from the A la carte one. Since we wanted to sample as many different dishes as possible, we went with the a la carte option. All dishes were perfectly executed, very creative and well presented, not to mention that they were simply delicious.
The service was outstanding, and overall I was more than happy that I picked this restaurant for our dinner.

A definite must in Edinburgh! The team here at The Kitchin put in every single effort to make our dining experience a lovely one - right from the moment of tailoring our menu (to suit all our dietary requirements) up till the end when they offered to get us a cab. It was all these minute details that have indeed made all the difference. In short, excellent, tactful service.

Food wise, the freshness of their ingredients were really apparent in all of their dishes! They also provide a map to show the areas from which they source them. My two personal favourites are their razor clams and their lobster cannelloni - a must try! The complimentary bread was also really good, soft and warm on the inside, just perfectly crisp on the outside; just the way I love my breads to be! It was a very generous loaf too. Both their consommé and pre-dessert palette cleanser were also very refreshing. It was no wonder they got their Michelin star!

If there were one thing I would fault, it would probably be their coffee - it doesn't taste bad but it wasn't great either.

In short, I highly recommend to dine here. Remember to make reservations in advance, they were fully booked even on weekdays - speaks much of their quality and class.

Thank you to the team at The Kitchin for such great food and experience. Will definitely come back!

Third time here and definitely the best of the three. The food is excellent and the service is great. You may pay a bit more because it's got a Michelin star but the food is delicious and the wine is amazing. The decor is really stylish too.

I'm over the traditional Michelin star restaurants that produce dishes with micro ingredients and minimal portion sizes. Kitchin manages to provide powerful new flavours on a plate with substance to leave you feeling satisfied. The amuse-bouche and palette cleanse were some of the best I've ever had. The table bread was piping hot coming to the table with their soft flavourful butter. I couldn't stop eating it.
I recommend the vegetable starter (which I would never normally go for) and the lobster or Salmon. But really it depends on their fresh ingredient as the menu is always changing.
Kitchen has been around for a while but I believe they have refined their craft to produce something seriously amazing. If you haven't been for a while you must check it out again.

I normally don't write food reviews, but in this case I must! The veg is guaranteed to be from farm to table in 16 hours!! And it shows in the taste! It seemed very bite was more flavorful than the one before! There is not a word to fully describe how wonderful tasting the food was. I had Hake with scallops and muscles as my main dish. I love fish that you actually taste it's flavor and usually it's taste gets buried under seasoning and sauces, but not in this case, The blend of fish, spice and sauce was prefect!
The service was impeccable! My water glass never less than half full. The staff worked seamlessly with each other. When we were finished a course, the table was cleared and re-set in seconds.

I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation and enjoying a dining experience here!
