Always an excellent choice of meals to be had and they cater for any that require gluten free food, the portions are nice and generous too. Very good service and ambience 🤓

Good fish and chips in a pub full of character and history

Really good selection of beer and cider, lots of space and lovely outside area.

Almost perfect but....
Regular visitor to this nice friendly pub located by the river . Good food & choice of beers n ciders except the ploughmans lunch is poor - it is a square of mild cheese , one slice of ham , half an Granny Smiths type apple and half a pickled onion and the worst of all a slice of processed white bread. This is not even close to a traditional ploughmans lunch and the half portions are difficult to fathom considering the cost v this quality / portions ! Really disappointed to comment on what is a great place

We had called in for a drink a few weeks back and liked the location and the menu looked good especially gluten free options.

Tried the treacle glazed ham, eggs and chips and falafel platter. Overall disappointed, the eggs were overcooked and although the ham was thick and tasty, it was quite fatty and difficult to taste the treacle.
The falafel platter was missing the haloumi and had too much pitta - sometimes less is more?
The pub has a nice location and with a bit more tlc and attention to detail, we would return
