Twice we have gone to get some shoes as I'm going back to dance this week and I need new shoes, and online it said that it was open yet when we got there it had been closed both times.

I used to come here when I was very little to get my ballet gear, but it is a long way from where I live, so I now tend to buy from the shop at my ballet school. However, in December, three days before my ballet exam, my teacher informed me that it was school policy that we had to wear satin shoes for our exams. There weren't any shoes in stock in my size, but my teacher offered to order them to arrive the day before my exam. Unsurprisingly I refused and said I would go to Dance Gear to buy them. I went to the shop after school on the Friday about half an hour before they closed. The staff were very friendly and helpful in finding a pair of shoes that fitted me, then gave me advice on how to break the shoes in quickly. The shoes themselves were actually a half size, which are quite hard to find in my dance school's shop, and as comfortable as you could hope for considering they were brand new. The store does a lot more than ballet gear, so it has a broad appeal and a very well stocked shop. I can't give it more than very good based on the fact that I have only been here once in 10 years, and can only comment on my 1 visit there, but I will be going back there to get stuff in the future.
