Went to this Ocean Baskets yesterday and the service was amazing and the food the same. The waiter that served us was friendly and helped us with any confusion. It is also situated in a nice and not overly crowed area!

Fantastic service and food. Great location. The staff are outstanding and genuinely welcoming. Our waiter “Prince” was unquestionably the best we’ve ever experienced any where in the world. The Maître d was also most hospitable and clearly the reason behind the great service.

First meal in South Africa, which opened up in Ocean Basket. Quite an attractive ambiance with blue as the main colour theme, here at Ocean Basket, our meals were already pre-booked. Hence, as we sat back, service was quite spot-on and efficient. The set meal consisted of a soup, fresh salad, seafood platter, dessert, coffee or tea and free flow of water. Pretty much a decent meal, the seafood platter paired with fries no doubt showcased the fresh catch but the portion was way too big for two person. Also, not the usual meal compared to the rice and noodles I eat all the time back home, I still ate but for a typical Malaysian like me, sorry to say, not my kind of food.

I tried calling to order for Lunch and waiting 15 minutes on the phone until I gave up. A simple answering of your phone could have made a different. I love your food but your service can be improved. I had to go in the branch and waited until my 1 hour lunch was over. This could have been easily avoided. Food is still great.

My husband and I love visiting Ocean Basket but after this horrible experience we won't be back anytime soon. I forwarded a complaint 2 months ago and have still not heard a word from them. On this particular day we waited an hour and 30 minutes for our food to arrive. While waiting we were told they ran out of calamari heads but would be replacing it with something else. When we finally received our food it was cold and the calamari heads was replaced with CHIPS! The portions were small and it didn't even look presentable. We had to call the waiter each time whose only excuse was that the kitchen was very busy. The restaurant wasn't even that full! While seated there were so many people around us who also had complaints about the bad service. We unfortunately won't be returning or at least until we get a response/apology from management.
