Iconic Lisbon restaurant most famous for Pessoa, the poet, who was a regular here.
Not the greatest value meals. I guess patrons pay for the privilege of dining here.
Although the restaurant aims for fine dining clientele the cuisine does not live up to such an aspiration

Historical local café & restaurant frequented by Fernando Pessoa in the past. Food and pastry are delicious. Nice location to get a view of Praça do Comércio if you sit outside.

We were recommended to visit this cafe and I struggle to understand why. We ordered coffee, a water, and some small finger foods. Firstly, it was the only poor espresso that we had in Portugal. The cod cakes were pleasant enough but far from great. Service was very poor, and prices were higher than elsewhere. The cafe may be very old, but one wouldn't know this without being told. We found the experience disappointing and did not stay long at all.
