My wife traveled with a group of 4 friends, all women back April. They stayed in two rooms. In one room the safe was not working and they had to put their dollars, euros and passports on the other safe. They stayed for 4 nights. On the last night when they returned to the hotel close to midnight, they safe in the room was open and $500 plus 300 Euros were missing. They were lucky they had their passport with them and did not leave them at the hotel that day. They immediately reported to Hotel Management, and they did nothing and did not try to help a bit. They had to call the police and file a report. After weeks of investigation all they said is that they fired the maid that was responsible for the room. They did not take any responsibility.
Avoid having a nightmare during your trip and simply avoid this hotel. We are going back to Lisbon this summer and will stay in Novotel.
