The Fortress was an amazing thing to see I honestly enjoyed the short time I spent in Norway we walked everywhere through the Fortress the structure the building the atmosphere of the garden everything was excellent it was definitely amazing to see what was built back when technology was so limited and I was able to even go into a museum and see the history of how people slept the execution the way they build homes and their policies I will never forget the moment and I would encourage anyone to visit Norway and if they get time to go to the Fortress Trail

As the official site says: ''The building of Akershus Castle and Fortress was commenced in 1299 under king Håkon V.'' The castle is in hart of the town and it serves as a tourist attraction but also for Military University. The place offers magnificent view of the town and overall it is huge for you to roam and explore.

A lovely day spent walking the city and seeing the sights. This fortress is free to enter and affords great views over the fjord and Oslo.
The pathways are uneven and may cause issues for disabled visitors in parts of the fortress.
Free toilets and baby changing facilities available at entrance and parking with electrical hook up right outside.
Witness the changing of the guard and a quick selfie with the cannons at the wall. Definitely worth a visit and a relaxing stroll through history, was very quiet on our visit.

A large fortress containing various buildings spanning the centuries. The grounds are open to explore at no cost, and there's plenty to see—including excellent views of Oslo Harbor. The keep itself has a self-guided tour that's certainly worth the price of admission.

This place let's you have a lot of freedom to walk around the premises. The guards on duty provide a great immersion. Great views of the bay
