This was the worst dining experience I've had in Wellington. The waitresses didn't understand our requests, the entrees were brought out at different times, my won ton soup was inedible because of how grisly the pork was, they bought out our mains about 5 minutes after they had brought out my won ton soup (which was late), the stir fry was bland and flavourless, vegetarian stir-fry which only had 3 different vegetables in it, tofu was undercooked, the steak was terrible quality and were large pieces - cutlery given was a SPOON and a fork - no knife. We hardly ate any of our meals and still paid way too much for it, despite a discount she gave after we complained. Too many silly things that totally let me down. Never go here, it's a sure-fire way to shatter your plans for a nice night out.

We visited Majestic for Yum Cha on Chinese New Year. Very easy booking and reservation system, prompt seating, and friendly staff. Food was very fresh and tasty, coming out at regular intervals. A good variety of sweet and savoury options too. One of the best places for Yum Cha in the area.
We came back a few weeks ago for the 12 Course Banquet. However, while the Yum Cha is very good, there is nothing special about this banquet. The dishes were often over-salted and greasy.

We tried 6 dishes, 1 of them tasted OK, 2 - bearable (perhaps because they were savourless), 3 - disgusting. But the tea was nice at least. However, it would be really hard to ruin the tea anyway. Even if half of the dishes didn't taste hideous, the prices seem unreasonable and we didn't receive any receipt. Without any exaggerations, that's the worst restaurant experience (foodwise) in my life.

I believe here you can have best YamChar in wellington.
I have tried few other restaurant and I still prefer Majestic.
For Weekend morning booking is recommended else you may need to wait for free table a little.
Their Main dishes are quiet nice as well.
