A fantastic little pub, warm cosy, great food and some of the greatest music I have ever heard in a pub. This place even has a Bechstein Grand Piano and a recording studio... truely amazing nights here. We came to town on a Sunday and where here till Thursday, well after the first night of wandering around town (resembled a typical small town on a Sunday night, nobody around and everything closed, then we stumbled across The Pheasant Plucker on Arawa Street, there were people singing and dancing, the staff were absolutely charming and such a warm welcoming atmosphere. Well we found our home for the next 4 evenings, live music every night and each night different from the other, wow what a find. MY wife and I travel all over the world and I think I can safely say this has got to be one of the best little pubs we have ever been to hands down! Oh and the food is lovely also (and not expensive) Would recommend if you are planning a trip to New Zealand you should definitely put this great little place on your itinerary.
