We booked a C class Mercedes well in advance to ensure we would have the car we wanted. We booked it for 8 days too, which came to over €450. When we got there, they only had a small Volvo which they deemed to be the same as a German built car. (Not even close!) We were told that there shouldn’t be a cancellation fee at all and so we cancelled the booking and were told we would receive a refund in the next few days. After a week we called head office to find out they were going to keep the entire amount! This came from Koen the manager which apparently was based in Budapest. Very Dutch name for a call centre based so far from The Netherlands. Absolute thieves!! Not once were we told that they would keep the entire amount and I can’t see how this is legal.
Take my advice, go to Europcar around the corner. We will pursue it further. Do not use this bunch of criminals!
