I thought it was a positive experience (clean car, efficient service), but it ended very poorly. Since I would be returning the car late at night, I asked several employees several times where it would be safe to park the car on the street. They all said "anywhere in the neighborhood close to the office would be safe", and NO ONE said that you have to PAY for parking ( they are a car rental company, so it stands to reason that they would have parking passes for their own vehicles on the street). Then I received a parking ticket for €40 and an additional €11 ticket from Dik's for "administration costs" associated with the parking ticket (what the what?!). I called Dik's, explained the situation, and asked if they could waive their €11 administration fee to take away the insult from the injury of the actual parking ticket. That was not a pleasant conversation. There are many other car rental companies that are equally convenient in Amsterdam. I will be using one of them in the future.
