Always get a receipt! I was told days after my initial reservation that tax wasn't charged and told about it at midnight as I was getting ready to sleep. I'm almost certain the right amount was paid initially but couldn't prove it.
Also, the A/C in the dorms is on half day, I had to remind them every day to turn it on and ask for it to be turned back on when it was turned off at 6am.
Location and atmosphere is good, staff is friendly.

Good Hostel. Dorms are too tiny and makes noise when you climb up to top bed. Bathroom are okay not fancy and can be upgraded. They have a cat and dog so if you are allergic be aware. I am not sure what i was allergic to but i got rashes all over my feet and changed hostel. Was only me and there was no bugs or anything so it's my issue. i changed hostel and it was fine again.

Wonderful people who run the hostel. All of them are very friendly and tried hard to make you feel like part of the group. For example, I was walking in the first day, with my luggage, and there's a bunch of people drinking at the table outside. Their first question was - "what will it be, rum or tequila?". I believe I got a triple shot of rum right after (alcohol makes my memory a little hazy).
Like other hostels in the area, they do daily events for the guests. One night was a 20 pesos, all you can drink. Bad, but great idea. And they try to go out most nights too, as long as there is a good number of people willing to go out.
They have a couple of buildings, and if you get a room in the main building, it can be a little noisy. We also had an issue with the water supply in our room, which was promptly taken care of.
I'll totally stay here the next time I'm in Cancun.
