We stayed at IBIS styles, and were thankful the car rental is just across the road!
Their cars that we saw were all Mazda(s) and all looked really new! We rented a 7 seater, and it was really comfortable.
Staff does not speak or understand English that well, but they called their support hotline for assistance. Took quite long to get out paper work done as we did not book directly with Times, but through another website portal. So if you booked from another portal and do not speak Japanese, give yourself 45 to 60min for paper work at least.
Bring along a flexible tripod, I still preferred to use Google Maps for directions around Japan. I'm not use to using their GPS, and some places we were looking for, we could not find it even with their business phone numbers.

Easily located at crossed junction, visible from far. Clean surrounding, even koi fish can bred in the monsoon drain.
