I had a dinner course here in the late September 2017.
I called around 3:30pm for the availability for 3 people and we could luckily reserve 8pm dinnere and we were the last guests.
We chose the 70000¥ dinner course per person and it was a very unique and pleasant dining experience.
The course includes,
-rice wine with flower petals. It's fruity, aromatic and delicious.
-porridge with egg yolk.
-seasonal vegetables with bonito+rice bran dip. I liked it but my mom found the fish flavor a tad bit overwhelming.
-sushi (salmon, eel and saba)
-rice balls with ikura, ebi and other fish- sorry I can't remember. And popped rice branch. We loved this.
-freshly just cooked rice with water they cook rice: palate cleansers
-main:their three type of rice blend cooked in a special earthware pot accompanied with misoshiru and side dishes.
-ochazuke with burnt crispy rice.
-dessert: matcha with rice cake and persimmon mousse.
Pro:
-unique and memorable dining experience.
-we agreed this was the best rice ever- my parents are Korean so they know rice. Lol
-polite and professional staffs. They seem proud of the work and the place.
-cozy and intimate atmosphere: not good for a large group.
-a beautiful presentation of food.
Con:
-maybe portion if you eat a lot.
Conclusion:
I recommend for a unique and memorable dining option. Could be a great spot to impress pescatarians. Our meals were mostly fish and vegetables except one side dish which was pork.
They make you rice balls to go from the 2nd pot of rice and which were still delicious in the following day.
We were moved when the staff came out and waited to see us leaving and finally bowed to our back when we took a corner.

Great Food! the rice itself is the main dish here. Be sure order another bowl of rice! and be sure go stay on line as Early as possible!!

This is not exactly a review but a warning to those who has high expectations from reading all the good reviews and high ratings of this restaurant. I found this restaurant from a travel app and the rating is so high with wonderful reviews. My Mum Being a rice lover, was very excited to visit this place. After a long day's sightseeing, we went to this restaurant and was delighted to see that no one is queuing outside (as I read from the reviews that was the norm). We waited outside for a few minutes as the door was closed, thinking that soon someone would come to lead us inside. After looking through the menu, peeping into the restaurant, and seeing that people inside had definitely noted our existence, NOBODY CAME OUT. So I decided to open the door and ask them whether they are open or closed. The answer I got was they are open. The chef (or one of the male staff, but he does look like a chef), told us to decide on our order before going in, and HE CLOSED THE DOOR IMMEDIATELY. This made me quite upset, cos the kind of service I get in Japan is generally much better than elsewhere. But knowing that my mum would love to eat here, I controlled my temper and discussed with my mum what we'd like to eat. When I open the door second time, and told them our order, he rudely told us NO. ONE PERSON ONE SET. (We have 4 year kid traveling with us). So I asked "does the kid have to order a full set too? He replied "no" while trying to close the door on me again. Apparently his NO does not mean "no need to order one full set" and he is totally not interested to clarify with me. His attitude just appeared to me that he is totally not interested to serve us at all. I don't see anything that we did wrongly (before I open the door first time, I knocked gently and opened slightly so that in case they are closed, I am not too intruding).
In the end, we just left the place and I know I would never visit this place again, however good their food is. I read that this had happened to other people as well. It is sad that they can be rude and arrogant to customers just because they are popular and don't have to worry about not having business. To me such behavior is abusing people's trust and support to them, and such behaviors definitely do not deserve the good ratings and reviews.

Amazing rice cooked in special bamboo pots. Go early at 10-ish to write your name down and come back at 11am to queue for your spot. Don't be late or they may cancel your place in line!
