We went here based upon Fodor's book recommendation backed up by Google stars review (while in Italy I tried to find 4 stars and above on Google combined with just one "$" on Fodor's). Bentigodi was worth the 45- minute travel from the Hilton Molino. The food was superb and the prices surprisingly low for the quality of the meal; it was really good! Service was also very good - they got a little distracted by a group of 12 that came in, but overall the service was better than most places we dined in Italy. My ravioli was excellent. I had chicken as a main and my wife had fish; the chicken was a very large portion and actually came with some sides (which I was very happy as I was starving by 10pm) and very good, but my wife's fish was even better - so I would recommend the fish for anyone who goes here. We told the waiter as we left how good the meal was and he went and told Chef Dominic, who came out and thanked us. He spoke some English as he told us he had spent a year in a kitchen in NY. We had to have the shot of grappa he offered us (that I do NOT recommend unless you like straight alcohol!).

Delicious food, a little bit expensive in comparison to other restaurants, but it is worth it. Best steak I had in Venice. Recommended.

Remarkable experience. Daily fish starter was perfectly cooked as well as the soft cheese with radicchio. About the main dishes: the only one which was a bit disappointing was the daily fish secondi: the fish was a bit overcooked and that's why a bit dry and a bit sawdust-like. The liver with spinach and black rice was the best part of the meal, a good plate composition with slightly sweet rice part, concentrated liver taste and spinach with less salt to keep the balance. Squid ink pasta: you should also give it a try.
The place is very crowded, but waiting 30-60 minutes for your turn definitely worth the whole experience.

Best gnocchi of our lives! What a charming place with exceptional food and ambiance. Probably the most delicious meal on our 2-week trip to Italy!

Great food. Bruschetta was huge and delicious. They had a great two man cover band playing some classics. Food was great. Prices were good. They don't take advantage of tourists either. Overall a very pleasant experience.
