Great hotel with a great staff in a great place. The rooms are big for the area and the prices are great. It is located in the island of Lido, a small and quiet island next to venice. It is definitely better to stay here and take public boats to visit Venice.

Beautiful little hotel, friendly staff and the breakfast is absolutely delicious. Ignore the "unassuming" reviews, they are not fair. Be realistic, you are not booking The Hilton, nor paying for it. Russo Palace Hotel is literally 10 minutes walk along the front from Lido centre and the main Vaporetti port. The staff are so helpful and will help wherever they can. Our room is superb, comfortable, spacious enough and very clean. The air conditioning worked well and hotel is quiet at night. The shower is wonderful. Lido is the perfect base from which to experience Venice, and then retreat to somewhere more relaxed. We wish our stay was longer and we will definitely return to Russo Palace Hotel. I have given 5 stars because this hotel ticks all the boxes. Reasonably priced, clean, comfortable, helpful, very well located and well presented.

Avoid the rooms in the attic in the summer!! We checked-in to our economy room which sounds good right, 2 twin beds and a separate though non divided room with another twin bed and small desk with the bathroom in the middle. Slope of the ceiling in this this attic room means a lot of bumping your head and I am only 163cm in height (5'4") and still had a few bumps ha ha. Cooling is an issue as there is no way to keep the window open and being an attic room means it gets the worst of the heat, plus the in room air conditioning doesn't work very well. Bathtub, no possibility of shower due to the ceiling sloping right over the bathtub means mind your head when you climb out of taking a bath.
Fortunately for the second night we were able to move to there ground floor room at the same rate, I'm not sure if this room was of the same category as it was nicer with tiled floors compared to carpet floors of the attic room. Ants were the only complaint in this new room and this seems to be common in Venice when it rains. Breakfast was good, with a variety of choices from fruits to scrambled eggs, croissants, yogurt, coffee, tea, juices, and cereals. Location of this hotel is not in the main islands of Venice which can be accessed with the water buses 12 minutes away and you save about $50 a night too and there is more space than the other islands of Venice and don't have to carry your luggage though the maze of streets. Peaceful beaches with the Adriatic Sea are only 3 blocks away too. Staff is very helpful and there seems to be someone there at least until 23:00 (11:00pm).

Giod hotel with cooperative staff and accomodating staff.Lido itself is a great peaceful island.enjoyed staying here.just 20 mins from venice.
