An huge and great place to visit.
A must see place to everyone that loves to be in touch with the romantic and religious art of Italy.

I loved the collection, you can enjoy art pieces from different periods. Found one painting of Rubens (The Last Supper), one of Caravaggio. Typically you will spend there 1h or more.

1st Sunday of the month is Free of charge!

I recommend also to visit the souvenir shop.

Large gallery with plenty of events going on, as well as being the seat of a very pretty and aesthetically-pleasing library. The building is ancient, and the statue of Napoleon is amusing to look at! A few words of advice, though: on some days it may be very busy (you'll have to navigate past hordes of students) and perhaps this place is *too* large (getting around in the building is tough unless you have a local with you). Also, getting into the library hall can be difficult as you'll need a valid justification and an ID to enter. Hence, prepare yourself with prescription glasses on your nose, a book in your left hand and a good excuse to enter in your right hand – they might just let you in!

Free on the first Sunday of the Month
This is the best art collection we get to see in Milan, although it is predominantly religious with untold numbers paintings of Madonna and child there are some great and significant pieces of art. It is well worth the queue to get in and do get a map to help guide you through, this will also point out the significant works of art in the different rooms. My only other advice would be to use the seats when available, there is a lot to see here and a sit down to take it in every now and again is highly recommended. Add this to your list of things to see in Milan it is worth it especially when you get a free visit on the first Sunday of the month.
