This square is one of Florence’s main bus stops, so naturally the cretins who run the bus network - ATAF - have installed only one ticket machine. Nearby shops often run out of tickets when the machine breaks. Slow handclap for ATAF.

The Piazza itself does not have the charm that others in Firenze do. However, after visiting the Accademia Gallery is refreshing to be outdoors and sit on one of its benches. Try the Riccota Pudding from the Patisserie at the same square. Delicious! The S Marco church is beautiful.

Is a nice place to visit, you should go to the pizza store in front of the bus stop is amazing and very affordable specially for backpackers.

There are better piazzas in Florence, but it is quite pleasant if you are passing the time before going to the San Marco museum or the Academia to see David. The frequent busses crossing over spoil it somewhat

The museum of San Marco is the real attraction here. Great works by Fra Paolino, Beato Angelo, etc.
