One of the best dinners we had in Italy over a 17 day trip throughout northern and central Italy. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The only restaurant that offered Brunello Di Montalcino wine by the glass. The owner was also there and made us feel extremely welcome. He offered us some salami and ham that he made personally. At the end of the evening, after all of the wonderful food, wine and espresso, he offered us some grappa. Great way to finish off a lovely evening at a lovely restaurant. A must go if you are in Cortona or just driving through.

The food was great and the atmosphere was nice as well, they had a couple tables on the street which was a nice place to sit. Reservations are a good idea.

Be ready to embrace the owner's big personality, who will make your dining experience a memorable one. All the food is excellent - we choose the pre fix tasting menu - and the wine recommendations by the staff are superb (tell them what you like or if you're looking for something unique and you'll have vino from the cellar that you won't find outside the country). They made our anniversary celebrations (two couples) very fun and enjoyable!

My wife and I have been in Italy nearly 3 weeks, and the best meal we have eaten was by far, at this restaurant.
The service was outstanding, and we were warmly welcomed, as were the other guests around us.
We went here because this restaurant was highly recommended to us by people we know who used to live in Cortona.

This was our first trip to Italy and we are grateful we had such a fantastic opportunity to experience genuine Italian dining at it's finest!
If you go, be sure to reserve in advance, because it is a fairly small, but very comfortable and popular place.
