I was ready for chaos and a terrible experience, based on previous reviews. I did email Europcar in advance to voice my concern over this location and other people's experiences in hope they would look into the situation. Europcar is a fantastic company which I use every month, but for some reason, the Santorini location have the customer service all wrong. I felt that 3 stars was too low and 4 is too high, but there is no 3.5, so a 4 it is. The 'meet and greet' didn't exist, there were no smiles, no 'hello', no 'enjoy your holiday' like we have always had at Europcar. It is true that cars are checked in advance for damage IN THE DARK, so use your mobile phone light and check slowly and carefully for any damage. I'm glad we did, because we found quite a bit which was not noted beforehand. So, if following this advice, you should be fine. Europcar Santorini, please please please learn to smile and act welcoming. People are travelling to your island, spending their hard earned money and want their holiday to begin and end smoothly. You can make the experience better...just start with a SMILE and you'll see your reviews get better.

Awful experience. Do not ever use Europcar. We were falsely accused of damage caused by a previous driver and then held to ransom to pay a nominal €100 fee. It was only when we requested to see the vehicle damage log from the previous driver that Europcar withdrew their ransom.
The damage log from the previous hire period clearly showed that this damage was caused by the previous driver and marked on the vehicle record log. The underhand scam played by Europcar to pay a nominal €100 fee was unexpected from such a large car hire company. I will never use Europcar again.

I rent a car almost in all of my trips and this was, by far, the worst experience I ever had, because:
1- The office is hard to find, it is not at the airport, unlike other rental offices.
2- The staff is not well-trained and friendly.
3- The process of rental is inefficient, leading to a very long queue for picking up and dropping off the car. It took over 30 minutes for me to pick up the car, while there wasn’t any other customer in the office. After 30 minutes the car was not ready yet, so I ended up picking another car.
4- But most importantly, I had a terrible experience for dropping the car off:
After inspecting the car, they talked to each other in Greek for a while and then told me to wait for the manager without any other explanation. It seemed OK to me since I thought it might be a routine procedure here. When the manager came (after 20-30 mins), he told me I had to pay $150, because the accident that broke the mirror!
WHAT??!! I did not have any accident and the mirror was intact! It took me a few minutes to prove it! Although I ended up not paying the charge, but I was about to miss my flight.
Finally, they told me that it was mistaken by another car, but it does not make sense at all, since there was only another car in the parking lot. I believe those guys are fraud, trying to over-charge the customers with such nonsense excuses.

Initial welcome was not really great, with jaded people. Only the girl who provided us the car was cool (the same when we have given back the car).
But, just after few kilometers I was not confident with the steering behavior... Indeed, I just stopped in a fuel station to check the tires pressures. Indeed, all the 4 wheels were under inflated (between 1,5 and 1,6bar while Nissan preconization is 2.2bar). The proof this well known company does not maintain their cars. THAT IS A SHAME FOR A CAR RENTAL COMPANY !!!

Awful experience with these people - definitely NOT recommended. Not very friendly and they screwed us for a scratch on the bumper - avoid these people. So many other places to rent cars from...
