Team Sanefighting is not just the best BJJ gym in Munich, it is one of the best BJJ gyms I have been to, period. I spent a summer in Munich, and visited several gyms, before staying with SF. It stood out at first because of both a large clean space to roll and the quality of its students.

Team SF has the toughest, most technical fighters I've ever met. White belts here would easily tap blue belts and some purple belts from other gyms. Johannes is both very welcoming and an incredibly technical fighter. He also knows a game plan for any fighter. I am a pretty small guy, but Johannes was still able to help me improve and advise me on what strategy would work against the bigger guys. The other fighters here are also fantastic. There is a strong sense of camaraderie and I really enjoyed training here for the past few months. Despite not speaking a word of German, there was always someone to translate for me.

I cannot recommend Sanefighting enough. Johannes is a world-class fighter and I have never met anyone as technical, as precise, and as skilled at teaching. He knows what works and what doesn't and is a brilliant instructor. Your BJJ skills will thrive under him.

Dropped in for a jiu jitsu class while visiting munich. Great enviroment. Super friendly. Johannes is a world class instructor, taught a great class. Definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn jiu jitsu.

Went there today for the open mat. Can be a little hard to find; make sure you go into the courtyard (rather than inside the building) and walk towards the end to the right (there should be a sign by the door). Very friendly and welcoming people here and many high level BJJ practitioners. There is no shortage of higher belts. Rolled with a few and they were all very technical with excellent control. If you're in München, make sure to stop by. Highly recommended!

I'm originally from San Francisco and I was in town for Oktoberfest 2015. After Oktoberfest, I figured it was time to start to get back on the mat and start training again. This gym will get you back in shape from Oktoberfest fast! The guys in here are good. Real Good. I encountered the toughest white belt I've ever met in my entire life in this gym - I'm serious. It definitely set the tone for the rest of my training at the gym. I thought to myself "Man! This guy's a white belt and this cat nearly killed you! How are the blues and purples like in here??!!" Sure enough, everybody in this gym is tough, very technical but yet very friendly.

People introduced themselves to me immediately as soon as I stepped onto the mat and I didn't feel the testosterone-overdrive-alpha-male attitude that I sometimes feel when I'm a visitor at another gym. It makes a difference in a training session when you're relaxed and you don't feel like the whole gym wants to kill you when it comes time to spar. Also, If you're worried about a language barrier - don't worry - they speak English here well.

I particularly enjoyed the advance class. That particular night it was positional sparring starting in DLR. Winner stays in with 3 consecutive rounds max. At the end of class Johannes critiques you and gives you his observations about your game. I still use the critique he gave me about to hold side-control to this day - such a simple adjustment has made a big difference in my side control game, both, in holding side control and how to transition out of it.

I also walked away that night w a greater appreciation of just positional sparring for the entire class since we don't do a ton of positional sparring at my home gym (we do a lot of open sparring). I realized that just doing positional sparring for the entire class is a time to get myself out of my comfort zone when it comes to sparring. We all have our default go-to moves/positions when it comes to sparring. Positional sparring for the entire class forced me out of my go-to moves/position. It forced me to play and explore a position that I would not normally spend a lot of time playing in. I started to do more positional sparring after my short time at this gym.

My overall experience here was great! I will definitely come back here when I'm in town again.
