The rental car was okay however there was for a long wait to collect the car. Just one staff member at 0900 on a busy weekday. Main problem is that two weeks after returning the car without damage, and despite paying for additional insurance with zero deductible the company has still not returned the €765 deposit to my credit card. This effectively is theft! Emails to their office and Budget's global customer service centre have not been answered. Really poor service and won't be using Budget again.

Do NOT ever use this company! It is a bunch of liars and thieves. My worst experience ever! You don't get the same car you booked and if you don't pay the expensive insurance you can end up loosing a lot of money in case of any accident. They withdrew money from my card 3 months later after returning the car without approval and they didn't even bother to let me know. The amount they took was absolutely ridiculous (the whole deposit value) comparing to the actual damage on the car.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES RENT A CAR HERE!

1) I waited in a line for more than two hours when I came to pick up my car (and I reserved this car a month ago by the way!)

2) Employee that I was talking to was extremely rude and impolite

3) They did not have the car i booked, so they gave me some clumsy minivan instead that was not suitable for my trip at all

4) They charged my credit car 200 EUR for a tiny scratch on the rim that was already there when I rented the car. What's more important is that they charge your credit card several weeks after you return the car, so you are already back from your vacation/business trip and can not directly go to their office and say that to their face. However, you can always open a dispute with your credit card company - that is exactly what you should do when Budget is trying to steal your money.

BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!

I never imagined that it could be my fault being a tourist, which is exactly what we were blamed for when we asked why they didn't pick up the phone. Petr was the counter employee's name. He indicated that they have many reservations and that they don't pick up the phones period (all that in extremely rude tone, while dropping the f-bomb, no less!). I was speechless.

Not only that, but he said that since he didn't like the way my wife showed her dissatisfaction (strong language and strict tone, but no foul language by any means), he wouldn't give us the car until she stepped outside their office! REALLY!?!?! WE HAD TO GET THE POLICE INVOLVED TO GET THE CAR!!!!! Yes, the officer was physically present so that we could get the car we ALREADY paid for!

But it didn't stop there. Petr indicated that since we were being so inconsiderate (I suppose, it would be better if there were no tourists and no cars rented, definitely a less stressful work environment for him), he would definitely choose "the best car" for us. If this is not a direct threat, I don't know what is?!?!

Sure enough, the vehicle we were given was Hyundai i30 (which was great). However, when driving it was making a very loud noise coming from the rear, to a point where it was much louder than the sound of the jet turbines on the plane. In fact, it was so loud we had to yell to each other to be understood at highway speeds. It was also a very scary feeling - like the car may fall apart at any second.

Yep, Petr definitely delivered on his threat. And again, no way to get a hold of anybody at the Budget office anywhere.

Well, that was our unique experience at Czech Budget. We travel a lot and this was by far THE WORST customer service ever!

AVOID - 100% FRAUD!

My car was a Peugeot, it had so many scrapes and scratches etc....one in particular was a massive scrape in the middle of the rear bumper but as usual was not recorded just like all scratches on the car...lots of stone chips on the windscreen.I had to go 3 times back to the rental desk to keep showing them damage, if i said nothing they would charge me for the bumpers as well!!!!!!

The car was marked from previous rental as "Brand New" which is such a lie! The guy from Budget did not even want to write all the damage i was telling him and only marked the main damage in the middle of the rear bumper.

It was a hot day, so air con was on full, driving back on the motorway and hit a bump and the stone chipped windscreen turned into a crack and i was put to blame.

CARS ARE NOT CHECKED AND WILL COST YOU HUNDREDS WHEN RETURNING IT!

PAY EXTRA AND RENT FROM OTHER DECENT COMPANIES!!!!!

They are cheap for a reason! They charged my credit card 340 EUR for a crack, when the insurance excess on car windscreens is 80 EUR and does not increase the premium when claiming the windscreen!!!!
