Definitely the worst case scenario. We wanted to go to nearby Restaurant Mamma Mia but it was really busy (you cannot book during the summer) and after reading the good reviews settle to try the Konoba Galeb 100 meters away.
The restaurant looks great and really attract by it's beautiful stone walls and the fire in the grill.
Service: they were kind and we could communicate in English (summer extras!?). I will add a foot note about the manager of the place.
Food: I hope for the owner/manager that he changes his cook.
- Bolognese pasta sauce didn't have an ounce of tomato or carrots and I believe it came from a can. Eatable but not even as good as a sauce you buy in grocery stores.
- cvevapcicis were gummy as hell and clearly factory pre-made.
- the steak was a terrible mistake. Cooked as asked (middle rare) but the meat quality made it difficult to cut (even if we were provided with a proper meat knife).
- teletina pod pekom (veal baked under a metalik/ceramic bell type cover): don't even try. I have eaten 100' of times this royal dish and I am 100% confident that in Konoba Galeb it was done in an oven and not cook properly. I got chunks of meats (meat/fat/bones) that normally should detach like stew meat but what I got in my plate had a strong family bond and didn't want work with my cutlery.
MANAGEMENT: the waitress made some mistakes in the original order and did her best to accommodate us. When we received the bill the mistakes (by example 2 mixe-grill instead of one) were on the bill. We went to the bar and the owner/manager got very defensive especially about the Bolognese sauce ("lots of people eat this sauce today and nobody complained"). He told us that he didnt care for the bill (but as the same time didn't want to make a significant gesture for a dinner that was definitely a failure). Instead of 720 hkn I left 600 hkn and the owner/manager ended the story by a nice flurry of local insults directed to one of my lady guest.
I definitely cannot recommand the place under such management and bad meals quality.

Konoba je, za organizaciju proslava, pravo mjesto! Jelovnik je bogat, može se sa vlasnikom popričati i onda su i osobne želje moguće.
