We were passing in transit to Germany. After a 9 hours lasting traffic jam in front of the croatian border we were urgently in need of an overnight stop. So we spontaniously booked a room for three adults just one hour before arriving. Nevertheless we found a pretty little pension, the welcome was hearty and our room already prepared for us.
The beds and the bed couch were comfortable, the bathroom large and markedly clean.
If we did'nt had to drive on this night, we would have loved to stay there longer.

Guesthouse Stari Jasen was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay the night before our flight back home to the USA. We had driven a long way and were tired. We had to be at the airport early in the morning. The guesthouse is close to the Zagreb airport and is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It has wonderful, spacious, very clean rooms. We stayed on the main level in Room #2. We think Guesthouse Stari Jasen is the perfect place for couples and for families. Our double room had all the amenities we needed - air conditioning, great shower, hair dryer, shampoo, soap, and a comfortable bed. We ate dinner and breakfast there - both were great. The hosts are wonderful - very welcoming. We were welcomed like family. Much nicer place for us to stay than in a hotel. We highly recommend this guesthouse! We would love to stay there again someday.

Fantastic experience!!! We came here just because of the proximity to the Zagreb Airport but we had such a wonderful time there, we wish we could have stayed longer. The original house (where the restaurant is) is a beautifully built 1923 house. The building where the rooms are is just three years old. The rooms are well designed & decorated. As enjoyable as the buildings are, the highlight of our visit was the proprietor, Ivan. He was a delight! The food was so satisfying, both to the palate & the heart (we were treated with bread that Mama made (yum!) and meat they had roasted that day in their backyard "barbeque". Don't know that they do this all the time, but whatever you're served, it will be most satisfying). And, indeed, it's only 5 minutes from the airport. Come visit them. Talk to Ivan. You'll enjoy it.
