Terrible service, awful staff, DO NOT USE!!!!!
I booked a car for a week in August with goldcar. Our flight was delayed so we were late for our company by an hour. We arrived at the goldcar "shack" at 20.55 to a half closed shutter and an extremely rude employee who told me they were closed and I was too late to get my car. The actual closing time was supposed to be 21.00 so I was well within time. I tried my hardest to politely convince the male employee to let me have the car I'd paid for already but no luck, I was told to come back in the morning. I returned in the morning as I needed the car for the week. The next member of staff told me because I was later then two hours after my booking the car had now been re allocated and it wasn't possible to use that booking anymore! An awful system! The employee I saw that morning was very helpful but unfortunately it wasn't good enough, I was also offered to book another car for the same duration but at double the price I initially paid! What a joke!!! The worst part was the manager was also there and listened to what had happened and what did he say? Absolutely nothing! Nothing about the rude member of staff, nothing about that member of staff shutting early and refusing to serve me even though I had photographic evidence. A bunch of thieves, do not use, pay a bit extra and go elsewhere!

Worst company! The car they give you will be worth less than the deposit (€1300) plus you won't get that back!!! Stay away at all costs

My name is Adem Jasarevic from Florida, USA, and I want to worn people not to use this company by any cost.
This is Lithuania-Croatian scum company. I booked a small car for 3 days for 19.08.2017 and they charged me $47 per day with insurance and everything they "offer" on 08/02/2017.
When I called to pick the car, their criminal Croatian counterpart told me that they have nothing to do with this company and expecting me to leave deposit of 1200€, plus their price of rental...
I called this customer service and talked to Kelly Robinson (such a Lithuanian name) and she confirmed me that I was purposely ripped off and that they do not have supervisors on board on weekends.

We had been in Split, Croatia and used Goldcar as a rental company, where we booked in the cheapest car a few months ago.
We do this quiet often as we always rent a car when on holiday.
Despite our routine in renting a car we got in a tourist trap by GOLDCAR.
I booked the rental to my partners name, however we normally pay the deposit via my credit card, which was not possible at GOLDCAR.
They simply told us that the only way to tackle this issue is by purchasing their full insurance coverage which was £20/day, 7x20=£140. I just want to note here that for the initial online booking we payed £110 , so it literally was more than double of our initial cost.
In the past 5 years no such thing happened to us. Of course we called the company where we booked the car at and advised them on the matter and all they could repeat was that they have calls like this all day long. I am writing this compliant in a hope of everyone out there taking a car from them in this moment and avoiding the same obstacle/over charges.
We however highly recommend Sixt, or Thrifty as your car company - have a look around before committing to a rental company!

The worst setup I have ever experienced in returning a car, no signs where to go and when you do work it out by speaking to a competitor you simply dump it on a dirt track miles from the airport. They are simply useless and will now never use goldcar again avoid at all costs, they also could not careless about the situation.
What a great generic response must have taken ages to copy and paste that from your book of standard responses, I shall never use goldcar again and will advise any and all I meet who ask.
