Hotel Alto las Paloma's has all of the things you like about it boutique hotel without the drawbacks. There is a wonderful restaurant, large rooms, unbelievably friendly and professional staff, outdoor pool (hard to find in San Jose) and everything works! Shower is hot, AC works, TV works, good water pressure, good wifi, outlets where they should be, nice pillows, extremely clean and quiet and every one on staff speaks English. The covered balcony is a great place to work; rain or shine. I was very pleasantly surprised. I have probably stayed in 15 hotels in the Central Valley and I usually steer clear of boutiques because they're just too hard on a business traveler. This is a gem.

Hi all, we just want to share our worst dining experience in Hotel Alta Las Palomas, after my wife and I wanted to have spoiled ourselves after a long week.
First off, upon sitting at the table and looking at the menu, it took the waiter about 25 minutes do approach and ask for our order. Other tables had larger groups, so we were not treated in the right matter. After my wife order for a cocktail, the waiter got very close to my wife, which made her feel uncomfortable.
Second, 15 minutes later, another waiter comes in with some bread and butter, places the butter, but then decides to leave without leaving the bread, and serves in a larger table, without saying anything back to us. After 10 more minutes, he shows with the bread. Again, no words spoken.
Third, meal arrived 1h 20m after we first arrived, and meal was not exciting. I’d cook my order at home, and I’m pretty sure I’d be better.
Fourth, we decided to head out and after reviewing the check, it was all wrong and more expensive. We told them, and took them another 15 minutes to figure it out. After providing our feedback to the waiters, they were pretty much sarcastic on their response.
Finally, as we were heading through the hotel lobby, I said ‘Good night’, and a security officer (I guess) said “Good night to you sir” (twice), overlooking my wife. We really considered rude, disrespectful and part of the machista culture, so we complained once more, and just said… ‘She looks upset’. Not the best time to even say that.
After calling the manager, we complained and explain the not pleasant night we just had, and how their restaurant quality seems to be down the drain. We’ve been there before, so we had good first-hand experience. After taking my information, and after a week, still have not reached, and we’re done waiting…
Talking to other friends, they’ve had similar experiences there, so we’ve decided to share this story, to avoid you going through the same things…

Stayed here for 1 night and everything was perfect! Pictures are in no way misleading and represent the accomondations exactly.
Staff is very friendly and speak good english.
View of san jose valley is beatifull especially at night.

Nice hotel and lovely staff, just be aware of all inclusive breakfast as only some dishes are included and their method for splitting what's included and not included is very confusing!
