Arrived at the course 15 minutes before our tee time to see a log jam of 5 carts at the first hole. Apparently, there was a family scramble with multiple groups which we later noticed included some 6somes (2 parents and 4 kids). When we asked if we could start on the back 9 we were bluntly told "no" and that was followed up with "we're 15-20 minutes behind. That's normal". Our round took over 5 hrs to play and there was no sign of a ranger trying to speed up play or let people through. We waited for the group ahead of us on every shot. Absolutely HORRIBLE course management. At the turn, while waiting at the window for our hot dogs the course pro or manager (not sure what his title was) told the gentleman who was getting our food to "shut the window". This person was completely ignorant from the minute we got there. The course itself was in decent shape. The greens were consistent. The fairways were a bit long. The course can be a bit of a shooting gallery as most of the holes are side by side with other holes that run tight together and parallel. The management and ignorance of the course pro/manager make this a course that I will never return to.

The manager/coordinator was rude. The food that we had in the buffet was cold because they were not in chafing dishes. The pancakes were rubbery. How can you mess up on pancakes. The one star is too much

I'm not really one to write a review, unless a place is really bad. However, I felt obliged to write this five-star review for the golf course. I play here about once every two years, and I must say I've never had a problem with the golf course. I am a stickler for good greens, and was impressed with the way these rolled. I'm a member at Torrey Pines in San Diego so I really hold a golf course to high standards. If you play here I don't think you'll be disappointed. Some of the holes are a bit longer, even from the white tees, and it is a good challenge for golfers of all skills.

Beautiful 18 hole course with new ownership. Well kept greens and fairways make the course one of the best in the area (if you can hit them).
Nice layout on Black River and good cart service. Nice setup for events or weddings too.

Really great time at Black River Country Club! Even on a cold day in April. Pro Shop is stocked with top of the line apparel along with wedges and putters. Fairways are looking great and greens feel soft and fast. Had a great meal in the clubhouse also. Couldn't have asked for a better golf day! Highly recommend Black River.
