Went there despite a mixed rating. Garlic scampis were fine and the entrecôte was "a point" as asked. The fries were a bit soaked with fat but good enough. Good place for over 40ties as it is quiet and comfortable. Attentive service.

Very average food, and expensive, which makes for a disastrous quality/price ratio. We were given basic mushrooms instead of porcini as per the menu. That's dishonest, so how could I recommend such a place?

Great brasserie for a working lunch or evening meal. I love the Carbonnade Flamande - a good healthy beef stew with Belgian beer. The filet steak is so tender and now they are doing fresh made salads on the terrace - sometimes with the roof open !

Although our room was clean and functional, it lacked personality and was very "Euro-generic". The pillows were lumpy but, in fairness, the linen was good and clean.

Breakfast was average, if a little strange in places (not sure that chicken stew would be my first choice for breakfast!), but, despite saying that it was served until 10.30am, upon arriving at 9.45am we found that most things - such as pastries and bread - had been finished and nothing was replenished.

However, the main problem, and the reason for my harsh review, was that, despite advertising a 24hr reception (this being the reason we chose the hotel as we were attending a wedding in the city) we were forced to sit on the door step of the hotel for over an hour, in the pouring rain, in the wee small hours of the morning. It would seem that the receptionist had gone to sleep under the desk! we rang the doorbell continously, hammered at the doors and checked all fire exits but eventually reconciled ourselves to a night in the rain and cold. Eventually, the receptionist woke up and let us in but when we complained the following morning the whole thing was treated as a minor inconvenience - very upsetting.

I would also add that the photos on Google for this hotel do not seem to mirror the actual building or rooms? The photo added by the owner looks nothing like our room and we were in an executive suite.
