Good food and at decent pricesr except for the wiener schnitzel. You can have wild boar, deer, duck for less. Desserts are excellent but take time. Menu only in Dutch. Real local place

The ribs were amazing and it was really cool to be at a place a little bit away from the main tourist spots. We ate outside and it was very charming.

At first it may seem pretty old fashioned, but the stuff is very nice and the food is well prepared.

It's a bit difficult to spot.....it's an older neighborhood....not a tourist magnet like you'd expect. I admit, it's all looking like 1955. But here's the thing....the menu is absolutely five-star in nature and the food is probably the best you can find in the city. Even the pricing is a bit on the lower side, which is surprising (most of Vienna establishments are overly expensive). The best choice? The ribs. They bring them out on an extra large plate with fries. I can only say that the ribs were among the best I've had in years. The establishment has a garden in the back, with tables and chairs that also appear to be something out of the 1950s.....but I admit after a while, it was appealing in some way. They grill the steaks and ribs on a outdoor kitchen stove, and you can smell them while they are being cooked. Pleasant staff and excellent environment. If you find the schloss, head west on the main avenue.....probably a 8-min walk from schloss point. On the right side of the street. Note, no parking anywhere around, and you'd best use mass transit to get near to it and walk to the place. Absolutely a place to get a fantastic dinner while staying in Vienna.
