When I was a customer of Commbank, for 30 years, I found them to be helpful, efficient and everything I could desire, as my bank. As time went on, I became concerned that Commbank was not taking climate change seriously, they refused to take notice of the facts that would mean that my grandchildren would be severely impacted by global warming. So I divested from Commbank and informed the directors of the reasons why.
Today I am shocked to hear that Commbank invested $3.9 billion in fossil fuels last year; this is totally unacceptable; it flies in the face of scientific evidence and the ever increasing signs we can all see, that climate change is already having detrimental impacts around the world. I do wish that the directors of Combank would withdraw support from climate wrecking fossil fuels and start investing in 100% renewable energy. Ironically, renewable energy is now actually cheaper and would employ more people.
