Good staff, nice food, but really slow prep considering we only ordered 2 sandwiches.

Coffee is good, food is really nice. Great place for breakfast. They have small tables for 4 and larger communal tables.

We were there on a Sunday morning, the cafe was at approx 50% capacity, the service was good, waitress was friendly and attentive however did not smile. The coffee was about a 6, but food was really nice, I got the salmon biscuits.

Worst service I've had in Sydney! And that includes fast food outlets.
I sat at my table as directed, waited so long for someone to take my order I considered leaving. This is 11am when there was about 4 other people eating - not exactly busy. I ordered coffee and pastry. The guy taking my order looked so bored and grumpy. The coffee was ok but the pastry was underwhelming for the price.
When I went to pay, the server gave me the most cursory exchange and not even a "Thank you'
I could appreciate this low standard of customer service if it was peak time and they were rushed but there is really no excuse for such poor service when the food and coffee is more expensive than many places. Save the effort and get your coffee elsewhere in Newtown.
